Autumn

Item posted: Thursday 23rd October , 2003

Last night we had the first frost of the season - an air frost as well as a ground frost, so we awoke to a blue sky and a whitened world.

Autumn has, of course, already started but the colour change is not well advanced yet and I couldn’t help but think that the sudden drop in temperature would serve to hasten the process along a bit.

Broad leafed trees abound in our valleys and on our hills and autumn is actually the most colourful season even though it carries with it the feeling that things are shutting down for the winter.

I, for one, shall certainly be out there to appreciate the glory of it all through the next few weeks - why not join me for a few days.............
